Can we ever afford to pay for happiness? A lot of
preachers and philosophers have often time said that happiness is a choice.
That happiness is something we create from deep within. They advice that we
should not allow anyone upset us or get us offended. Always ignore the behavior
of others, be strong and learn to deal decisively with those who try to steal
your happiness.
This counsel or philosophy sounds so true and wise
but in practical terms, it is unrealistic. Human beings are emotional beings
designed to feel or react to any kind of word they hear. Humans can react to
any kind of act or attitude directed to them whether it is good or bad. Our
ability to feel one another is coded in our emotions and this is a necessary
part of our existence. Our emotion is the necessary catalyst that motivates us,
empowers us an inspire most of what we do. Humans act and react based on
feelings.
It is an emotional decision to get rid of sentiments
when people close to you constantly does things that gets on your nerve and
makes you unhappy, it will definitely get to you. If you are being lied to,
cheated, oppressed, looked down on, abused, accused, disrespected, you will
definitely feel it but you can choose not to act in anger or disapproval.
When you are continually treated wrongly and
unfairly, denied your right and benefit, you can never truly be happy. You
cannot surround yourself with people that hurt you regularly and try to create
happiness within it. It is perpetually impossible to create happiness for
yourself in the midst of perpetual pain and injustice.
You cannot remain in a sad situation and try to
create happiness within sadness. You cannot create happiness by denying the
reality of the hurt and pain that you feel. Happiness doesn’t come by pretending
that a cause of pain doesn’t. Happiness is truly created by confronting the
pain factors, situations and people that make you unhappy.
You cannot confess happiness; neither can you wish
for it. True happiness does not come by going for happiness itself. It comes
when we work on the components that bring true happiness. The ability to laugh
genuinely in the midst of painful situation doesn’t come by denial but by
working on the component for true happiness.
COMPONENTS THAT MAKES FOR TRUE HAPPINESS
A Clear Conscience: No matter how
famous you become, if you are having a guilty conscience, you can never be
happy. If you have been treacherously mean and unkind towards others, you can
never be happy because you conscience is already filled with guilt. A guilty
mind before God can never be happy.
2 Serenity: This is a state of being
calm, peaceful and untroubled. It is difficult to live in serenity if you have
sown seeds of evil and wickedness in time past. A man who has stolen before
will always believe that everybody is a thief. If you have broken someone’s
heart before in a relationship, you will always believe it will happen to your
children.
Be quick to always ask for forgiveness from those
you offended in other to live a trouble free, peaceful and calm life
Pursuit: This is activated when
you have goals you are working at. The thought of achieving set goals on a
daily basis, has a way of crating excitement and happiness. When we don’t set
goals, each day will be empty, lonely, sad and boring. You must have a vision
to pursue.
4 Healthy living: A life of total
disregard for health has its own implications. Health is wealth. When you
consume toxic content, over eat and become over weight, you can never be happy.
Healthy living makes you happy.
5 Love: You need to love someone and
be loved in return. Love makes a person happy. Everyone wants to be loved,
encouraged, motivated and pampered, protected and secured. But nowadays,
marriages and relationships are experiencing exploitation and not true love.
Almost everything has become conditional; many earn the affection, attention,
security and care even with cash or kind. This frustrates every affair. True
love is genuine and from the heart.
6 Money: Money can buy happiness.
When you can afford to pay all your bills and afford all the good things you
need in life, it will make you happy. Money is a key component for happiness.
Poverty and insufficiency makes one afraid, insecure and disrespected. Money is
important in life to be happy.
True happiness is the ability to
change you pain factors and embrace the components that makes for happiness.
